In 1890, in a small Maurienne village of Savoie region, Joseph Opinel invented the famous pocket knife that bears his name today. The Opinel Company is still being held by Joseph's descendants and produces knives in the heart of the french Alpes in Chambéry. Quality has made Opinel knives' reputation for the past 130 years.

Its varnished olive wood handle has a warm, Mediterranean grain. This wood's grain gives each knife a unique look.
The natural leather lanyard on the handle's end means you can easily hang the knife up.
