It is a series specifically engineered for real outdoor use, featuring dedicated finishes and solutions: green handles for environmental integration, Stone Washed or Satin finished blades for easy maintenance, high‑visibility paracord, essential and rugged sheaths.
Fewer unnecessary accessories. Same reliability, same quality, same performance. Outdoor series knives embody this philosophy in the most direct way: real tools, ready for work.
RAO C in an Outdoor Configuration
RAO C Outdoor is a compact, robust folding knife derived from the iconic RAO II, reinterpreted specifically for outdoor use. It retains the core design philosophy of the RAO C model: maximum structural strength in a more portable format, combined with excellent handling and control. It is intended for users who require an outdoor folding knife capable of performing reliably under load.
The Outdoor configuration introduces dedicated finishes and functional solutions for field use, transforming a heavy‑duty folder into a tool fully aligned with operational bushcraft, advanced camping, and professional outdoor applications.
Blade and Structure
The blade is made of Böhler N690 steel, heat treated to 58 HRC, offering a balanced combination of corrosion resistance, edge stability, and ease of maintenance – key characteristics for a professional outdoor knife.
The Outdoor Stone Washed finish is selected for demanding use: less sensitive to wear marks, easier to maintain, and more tolerant of dirt and moisture. The handle structure combines Cerakote‑finished anodized aluminum scales with dual steel liners, increasing overall rigidity and resistance under heavy‑duty use.
Locking System and Safety
RAO C Outdoor features an exceptionally robust locking system. The mechanism is supported by a primary safety and a secondary safety, stabilizing the blade in the open position and giving the knife behavior comparable to that of a fixed blade.
Outdoor Handle
The green handle scales of the Outdoor configuration improve visual integration in natural environments. The high‑visibility orange paracord lanyard adds a practical safety function: quick recovery of the tool when dropped in vegetation or terrain.
Outdoor Carry System
Unlike the standard model, RAO C Outdoor is supplied with a Kydex sheath, designed for secure carry in outdoor environments. Lightweight, durable, water‑resistant, and maintenance‑free.
Carry Configurations
The sheath system is modular and configurable:
