MANURHIN MR73 SPORT 4" – .357 MAGNUM REVOLVER

The Manurhin MR73 Sport 4-inch is one of the most iconic French revolvers ever produced. Originally developed in the 1970s, the MR73 has earned an outstanding reputation for its manufacturing quality, precision fitting and exceptionally refined action.

The Sport 4" version combines the balanced proportions of a 102 mm / 4-inch barrel with adjustable sights, while retaining the traditional single- and double-action mechanism that defines the MR73.

Today, the MR73 is manufactured in France by Chapuis Armes in Saint-Bonnet-le-Château.

AN ICON OF FRENCH REVOLVER DESIGN

The MR73 was originally developed in close cooperation with law-enforcement professionals and competitive shooters.

Throughout its history, the platform has been used by several prestigious French units, including the GIGN, RAID and French National Police.

The Sport version retains the proven MR73 architecture while offering a configuration particularly suited to sporting use.

4-INCH SPORT BARREL

This version features a 4-inch / approximately 102 mm barrel, providing an excellent balance between overall dimensions and the classic proportions of the MR73.

The barrel features six right-hand grooves with a twist rate of one turn in 476 mm.

With an overall length of approximately 233 mm / 9.17 inches and an unloaded weight of approximately 970 g / 34.2 oz, the MR73 Sport 4" remains compact and well balanced.

.357 MAGNUM / .38 SPECIAL

The MR73 Sport 4" is chambered in .357 Magnum and is also compatible with .38 Special ammunition.

The cylinder has a capacity of 6 rounds.

SINGLE & DOUBLE ACTION

The MR73 operates in both single action and double action.

One of the defining characteristics of the MR73 is its highly refined trigger mechanism, including the ability to precisely adjust the double-action trigger weight.

Single-action trigger characteristics can also be adjusted through its trigger return spring system.

This sophisticated adjustable mechanism has long been one of the features that sets the MR73 apart from conventional production revolvers.

ADJUSTABLE SPORT SIGHTS

The Sport configuration features an adjustable rear sight combined with a Sport front sight.

On the 4-inch model, the sight radius measures approximately 142 mm / 5.59 inches.

This configuration reflects the sporting orientation of the MR73 Sport series.

POLYGLASS FINISH

The MR73 Sport features a distinctive high-gloss black Polyglass steel finish, complemented by extensive hand polishing.

Its deep, mirror-like appearance is one of the visual signatures of the revolver and reflects the attention given to its manufacturing and finishing process.

The frames are fully machined from forged steel blanks.

FRENCH MANUFACTURING & QUALITY CONTROL

Producing an MR73 involves numerous fitting and inspection operations covering the action, barrel, cylinder, locking system and ejector assembly.

The revolvers also undergo several quality-control procedures, including overpressure proof testing at the Saint-Étienne Proof House, as well as functional and accuracy testing.
