In 1890, in a small Maurienne village of Savoie region, Joseph Opinel invented the famous pocket knife that bears his name today. The Opinel Company is still being held by Joseph's descendants and produces knives in the heart of the french Alpes in Chambéry. Quality has made Opinel knives' reputation for the past 130 years.

The knife features a hornbeam wood handle decorated using an all-over sublimation process, allowing the artwork to cover the entire handle and giving this limited edition its unique visual identity.
Its stainless steel blade features engraving on both sides, extending the distinctive artwork from the handle onto the blade.
